Photos with Clifford

As part of our Read Across America Week celebration, students can have their pictures made with Clifford the Big Red Dog. To have their picture taken, students need to bring $3.00 for one picture and $5.00 for two pictures to school by Wednesday. Pictures will be taken on Thursday.

Read Across America Week

During the week of March 2 - 6, students are being challenged to read 1,000 books. All week long students will be encouraged to read, read, and read some more. The library media center will be hosting guest readers that will be reading stories to different classes. Kindergarten and Preschool students will be visiting the library with 4th and 5th grade classes. These students will be paired up with an older student who will then read with them during library time. Throughout the week, students are also encouraged to dress up for the week of festivities.

  • Monday - Hat Day (Students can wear their favorite hat.)
  • Tuesday - Crazy Footwear Day (Students can wear any combination of crazy socks and shoes.)
  • Wednesday - Read My Shirt Day (Students can wear t-shirts or jackets with appropriate writing on it.)
  • Thursday - Green Day (Students can wear green from head to toe.)
  • Friday - Mismatched Day (Students can wear any combination of attire from the week.)

There are many incentives for students to earn. The student from each grade level that reads the most books will receive a $10 gift card to Books-A-Million. The class that reads the most books will receive a birthday party in honor of Dr. Seuss. And if the school meets it goal of reading at least 1,000 books, Ms. Hall will kiss a goat and Ms. McBride will do the Wobble on the School Roof.

This is going to be a very exciting week!
